1. X-Pression Premium Original Ultra Braid. One of the most well-known brands of braiding hair is X-Pression. The texture of X-Pression braiding hair and how effectively the ends seal in hot water make it the best to use, in my opinion, and the product is incredibly inexpensive.

There are two types of human hair – Indian Remi and yaki. It is down to preference and the desired result for which one you choose. Remi hair is considered the best grade for quality. It's sourced from a single (human) donor which means the cuticles are aligned in one direction.

*Fun Fact: X-pressions hair is technically 100% Kanekalon. The only difference it that this hair is processed to be smoother, softer and neater. Price: Xpressions is a bit more expensive than regular Kanekalon hair, A single pack of “Xpressions” will run you about $5.

So, as you can imagine, micro braids are some of the most expensive to have done and usually cost between $150 to $450 depending on other factors, though this price doesn't tend to include the cost of the hair you need (which may be about four packs of pre-stretched braiding hair).
